i-D Germany: Marieke Fischer
We are living in the liminality of identities, where every person has the power to choose how they embody themselves in online spaces. How is this affecting the way we perceive ourselves and the way we interact with each other?
The mediation of digital identities and lived experiences is at the core of CO:QUO x Digi-Gxl. To challenge the status quo with future-forward technology and art, we need to understand where we stand and where we come from. It’s here that the liminality thrives: The ambiguous zone between who we are, who we want to be, and how we’re seen.
Hosted by i-D Germany and moderated by Senior Editor; Marieke Fischer, this panel discussion includes artists who have a liminal identity–an identity that is neither one thing nor another–for a conversation about how they express these IRL identities in the URL world.
The discussion will take place on Monday 9 September at NIGHT EMBASSY, a custom-built modular music and art space in the heart of Kreuzberg. The event is a safe space to cultivate communal knowledge and share experiences: Respect is a must, as is open-mindedness.
The event is free of charge, but capacity is limited. Admission is only guaranteed with a digital ticket, so be sure to download yours today to save your spot. The exhibition and bar is open from 18:00 – 23:00 every week day.
i-D inspires people for whom fashion is more than just clothing. What began in 1980 as a fanzine that paid tribute to the street style of London’s punk era quickly became a pioneer in fashion and style. The simple cut-and-paste zine is now a premium magazine and website that not only documents fashion and culture like no other, but also reinvents itself time and time again.
