Familiar sounds with storied histories: Join us at the NIGHT EMBASSY as DJ, producer, and percussionist Shadi walks us through traditional Middle Eastern music and percussion to explore it’s current use in electronic music.
In this workshop, he’ll offer hands-on guidance and insight into how mixing, fusing, and experimentation can wed the intricacies of Middle Eastern music with electronic beats: It’s an overview of a cultural heritage through its percussion, and with its sights set on the future of sound art and music. Join Peripheral Intuitions and Shadi at the NIGHT EMBASSY for an evening focused on forming connections, building bridges, and making music that can inspire new directions in Berlin’s nightlife.
A contributor to the popular Acid Arab group since 2013, Shadi most recently released KING GHAZI with Gilb’r on Versatile Records. Inspired by the Jordanian desert, his sound is a hypnotic mix of traditional Middle Eastern music with electronic twists.
Percussionist, DJ and producer, contributor of Acid Arab since 2013 and has just released the album KING GHAZI with Gilb'r on Versatile Records, which they played together the first DJ/ Live set at Festival Nuits Sonores 2017.
Since 2016 he is also a Dj resident of Station Endlos crew in Germany
Inspired by the atmosphere of Jordanian desert, his DJ set - Arabic Techno Sound - is a hypnotic mix of traditional Middle Eastern music and electronic tones. He has founded the Sa7ra-oui electro party in October 2016 (2nd edition in oct 2017) in collaboration with the Bedouins and prepares also a big event there for spring 2019, the Wadi Rum Electro Festival.
