For the duration of our residency MOVE.unltd turns the NIGHT EMBASSY into a temporary dance studio where you can learn from some of Berlin's most talented performers for free. Limited to 15 places. Sign up via the link to secure your spot. First come, first serve.
Voguing is the name of the dance style within ballroom culture. It derived from the poses of fashion models while a fast repetition of them to music created the dance. Vogue performance evolved during the decades and is now distinguished into three different styles: Old way, New Way and finally Vogue Fem.
Lee’elle Juicy is going to teach you Vogue Fem. As the name implies this type of vogue performance puts a main emphasis on feminine moves. You’re going to learn how to tell your story through the five elements: hands performance, catwalk, duck walk, floor performance and spin & dip.
Lee’elle is part of Berlin’s Ballroom Scene since 2014. She joined the Kiki House of Juicy in 2016 and walks and judges Balls all over the town.
Ballroom was founded by black and Latinx gay and trans people in New York rooting back to the sixties and longer. Out of being marginalized by the white, heteronormative society and sometimes even shunned by their own families for being queer they formed their own safe space to celebrate each other, compete and finally be that somebody. As an equivalent to traditional families they formed Houses with gay or trans mothers or fathers as leaders to support each other and literally survive.
The workshop is open to all levels but mostly introduces this style of performance to beginners. So don’t be shy, but please get your eventbrite ticket as there is limited space. First come, first serve! You can always show up spontaneously and without a ticket, but then we cannot guarantee you access to the workshops.
