PREAMBLE

Spirits are cultural assets, and enjoying them is a centuries-old tradition: they are consumed responsibly by millions of adults worldwide every day, and in many societies they are an expression of our zest for life.

For more than 70 years, we have continuously strived to produce spirits of the highest quality and with an unmistakable flavor. Today, Jägermeister is the most successful herbal liqueur in the world. It is sold in over 80 countries and enjoyed by millions of people on a wide variety of occasions.

In 1934, Curt Mast created what is now known the world over as Jägermeister, combining 56 different natural ingredients, including select herbs, blossoms, roots and fruits from every corner of the globe. Since then we have succeeded in combining the great traditions of a family-owned company with innovative and exciting marketing strategies. This has made Jägermeister one of the most successful premium brands worldwide. The Jägermeister brand has a strong character and stands for unique, authentic flavor.

As a family company, we are aware of our responsibility to the people who consume our products and therefore are committed to the responsible marketing and advertising of our products. We pay special attention to ensure that our sales, marketing, communication, and advertising activities promote the responsible enjoyment of our products by adults of legal purchase age who choose to drink. We are convinced that implementing this code will contribute to the long-term success of our brand.

OUR PRINCIPLES

FOR ADULTS ONLY

PRINCIPLE 1

Jägermeister is intended for adults of legal purchase age who choose to drink.

Minors must be given special protection. Drinking alcohol should be a choice that is made freely by adults. In marketing and communications activities, we will strongly support the message that the consumption of alcohol is only for adults who have attained the legal minimum age.

COMMITTED TO RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION

PRINCIPLE 2

Jägermeister’s commitment to responsible consumption is an important, integral component of all advertising and marketing practices.

At Jägermeister, we strive to promote the message that alcohol should be consumed responsibly. We will incorporate responsible drinking statements in our communications wherever practicable and possible. In our marketing and communications work, the consumption of alcoholic beverages will be depicted exclusively as responsible and moderate enjoyment.

DISCOURAGING ABUSIVE CONSUMPTION

PRINCIPLE 3

Jägermeister encourages responsible decision-making regarding the consumption of alcohol and discourages abusive consumption.

At Jägermeister, we reject any consumption of alcohol that is irresponsible, abusive or excessive. Our marketing and communications activities will not claim that the consumption of Jägermeister enhances mental ability or physical performance.

HONORING COMMUNITY STANDARDS

PRINCIPLE 4

Jägermeister marketing and advertising should reflect generally accepted standards of good taste while recognizing that these standards can vary from nation to nation.

At Jägermeister, we hold socially accepted standards and conventions in high esteem since our products are enjoyed by millions of different people. We want to play our part in a multicultural society and we honor the diversity of people, ideas and beliefs. Accordingly, our marketing will never denigrate anybody because of his or her sex, ethnicity or belief, nor because of his or her religious or political views.

JÄGERMEISTER OBSERVES THE LAW

PRINCIPLE 5

Jägermeister marketing and advertising abides by all laws, regulations, and national self-imposed codes.

The Jägermeister Marketing Code sets out fundamental principles that are applicable for any country in which we are active. In countries where local laws and advertising regulations place additional requirements on doing business, these additional requirements must also be met.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE

The marketing and advertising practices of every country in which we do business will be periodically reviewed to ensure compliance with this Jägermeister Marketing Code. These periodic reviews will examine all marketing and advertising practices, including the following areas:

  • Traditional Advertising
  • New Media (websites, social networking, etc.)
  • Point of Sale/Consumption Materials
  • Promotional Activities
  • Event Sponsorships
  • Public Relations

New technologies mean new horizons for art, music, and culture. CO:QUO x Digi-Gxl are breaking boundaries and exploring what it means to be human in rapidly changing virtual landscapes. Digi-Gxl is a global network of womxn, trans and non-binary creatives working in 3D animation and digital art. CO:QUO is a femme collective aiming to co-create and address status-quos that have negative impacts on society through music, workshops, and discussions. Together they uphold themes of diversity, inclusivity, and liminality in the visual and performing arts.

No Start No End

Berlin’s nightlife is almost spiritual in many ways, a spirituality that thrives under nightfall. Ghost, I x No Start No End embodies just that: a brooding music and art collective, their haunted vision is brought to life with live instrumentals and heavy beats for a dark yet uplifting experience touched by eroticism and melancholy.

PANSYPANSY

Berlin’s queer scene is unparalleled, and PANSY is at the heart of the action. With scene-stealing weekly drag nights and tireless community organising for over seven years, they are behind some of the city’s most popular parties and events for queer people from all walks of life.

Peripheral
Intuitions
Peripheral
Intuitions

The Peripheral Intuitions Society reimagines a worldview guided by the peripheries. This duo believes the boundaries between dance clubs, art institutions, and therapeutic spaces are counter productive, as they don’t recognise the role of nightlife in communal healing and political mobilisation. They seek a new balance, free from the boundaries separating parties, arts, and politics; wanting to celebrate alternative visions of the future dreamt up by those marginalised due to their gendered, racial, or sexual identities.

MOVE.UNLTDMOVE.UNLTD

Blurring the lines between visual art, sound and movement creates the ultimate immersive experience for this collective. MOVE.UNLTD exists in these crossed borders, drawing from both the city’s dance floors and studios alike. Berlin’s club scene is built on artistic experimentation that refuses to be defined, and the collective’s work is built on the promise of global outlook on a local scale.

Sweetest

Sweetest
Taboo

This new ambitious collaboration between DJs Kikelomo and Hoe__Mies focuses on providing a space for people to explore and discuss traditionally taboo topics. Their trademark on making room for those often left dancing on their own, has already left a major mark on the city’s circuit. After all, parties are meant to be shared.

All
About

Jägermeister is proud to present the Berlin Night Embassy scholarship program this fall. After uncovering some of the creative community's most visionary ideas for reinventing Berlin’s nightlife, six Ambassadors with the boldest ideas in the city were chosen.

As Pansy, Ghost, I x No Start No End, Peripheral Intuitions, MOVE.UNLTD, CO:QUO x Digi-Gxl, and Sweetest Taboo, the Ambassadors come from around the world, but share a common love for the city’s nightlife. We’re also giving them a blank canvas to explore their chosen topics and concepts with the support of the NIGHT EMBASSY Creative Board, five renowned figures known for their contributions to Berlin’s club and music culture: Lutz Leichsenring, executive member of the Berlin Club Commission; music journalist Christine Kakaire; Dimitri Hegemann, Berlin club luminary and founder of Tresor; Linnea Palmestal, DJ, activist and founder of women’s, trans and non-binary collective No Shade; and Bernard Koomson, DJ and founder of artist collective deadHYPE. Under the curatorial direction of each ambassador, the NIGHT EMBASSY will also be a public showcase of their work, putting them in charge of a day-to-night program with collaborators and mediums of their choice.

Starting on September 6, they’re given a blank canvas and a two-week residencies in our custom-built modular art and music space in the heart of Kreuzberg to explore new creative directions in Berlin's nightlife through day-to-night programming ranging from workshops, film screenings, performances, and parties, of course.

https://youtu.be/qypU_yIrZzA

The NIGHT EMBASSY draws inspiration from both Jägermeister’s own heritage of irreverent perfectionism and the freeform creativity of Berlin’s long-standing nightlife and art scene. As such, Jägermeister welcomes artists based in Berlin from any background, age and level of experience: The NIGHT EMBASSY is open to all bold thinkers committed to bringing their ideas to life. Our selected projects shine a light on new possibilities for artforms connected to club culture, and foster a strong sense of community.

Each residency will be tailored to the experience of its participants. With educational lectures, hands-on workshops and expert guidance to help cultivate their career in the arts and onwards, the program aims to equip each ambassador with the inspiration, technical know-how and practical support to transform their creative practice and redefine Berlin’s nightlife.

The NIGHT EMBASSY Creative Board Members

Each Ambassador has also received the support of the NIGHT EMBASSY Creative Board, five renowned figures known for their contributions to Berlin’s club and music culture.
